Powder coating offers an extensive color selection (matte silver, black, champagne gold, rose gold and many more), effectively hides fine porosity and flow marks on the die-cast surface, provides excellent scratch and corrosion resistance, and delivers a consistent matte metallic appearance.

Anodizing is mainly applied to aluminum parts; it creates an oxide film through an electrochemical process, followed by dyeing and sealing, producing classic metallic tones such as natural silver, black, champagne and gold with a more authentic metal feel and good wear resistance. Note that ordinary high-silicon die-cast aluminum alloys (e.g., ADC12, A380) often give poorer anodizing results and may appear gray or uneven; better results are obtained with low-silicon alloys, special pre-treatment, or parts made from extruded aluminum profiles.

Alternative or complementary processes include liquid painting (lower cost and flexible colors but generally less durable than powder coating), electrophoretic coating (excellent adhesion and corrosion protection, usable as primer or finish), and PVD vacuum plating for premium, highly refined metallic colors on select high-end products.

In actual production, choose powder coating when rich colors, strong matte effect and defect coverage are priorities; select anodizing when a true metallic look, wear resistance and classic colors (silver, black, champagne) are desired and the alloy is suitable. The uniform matte metallic finishes in silver, black and champagne gold commonly seen on industrial die-cast components are most often achieved by powder coating or by anodizing combined with sandblasting pre-treatment.

Die-cast parts such as aluminum or zinc alloy handles, side strips, frames and decorative components achieve their wide range of colors primarily through surface treatment processes.
