Medical mold production must occur in ISO Class 7 or higher cleanrooms, with designs incorporating full-process validation, traceability systems, and compliance with FDA and CE certifications. The development cycle is typically 2–3 times longer. Consumer product molds have no mandatory cleanroom requirements, prioritizing cost control and shorter lead times, with lower certification thresholds.

Additionally, design complexity differs. Medical molds emphasize multi-cavity balance, hot runner optimization, and dead-corner-free structures to prevent contamination. Consumer product molds focus more on surface textures and ejection efficiency.

Medical molds center on safety, precision, and regulatory compliance, while consumer product molds pursue cost-effectiveness and aesthetics.
